Hi, I'm Cleo!
I'm a Graphic Designer based in Duluth, MN.
I recently graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of Minnesota Duluth, located in the place I grew up. The scenery, shops, and my family are what kept me around.
Movies, books, and dreams take over most of my free time. Likewise, illustration, collage, photography, and typography puts me in a place of comfort where I can create as many stories as I want. I can photograph my sister leaning against a tree and collage it into a window. I can animate my name into a birch tree. My inspiration stems from my own and others’ stories, starting with reality then growing into a place beyond that.
My brainstorming process starts with writing random words on paper, sketching, designing, and starting over until I find my vision. A mixture of hands-on and digital creation allows me to accomplish unexpected compositions.
My work varies in meaning since it involves different contexts, but it encapsulates my surreal imagination and understanding of the world. Other times, I illustrate stories told by others. At the end of the day, I want to create work that can go on my walls and initiate conversation.
